after the many pile-ups at LRP this year, I'm sure that the drivers (or car owners) won't mind a change

Default Hot Lap

This afternoon I did ¾ of a lap on the Southern Road Circuit at New Jersey Motorsports Park, Thunderbolt Raceway. This course
will feature over 2.25 miles of asphalt, 14 challenging turns, a one half mile straightway and approximately 40 acres of full service paddock space.

Just wondering if a new track this small will the the attention of the pros
On the current ALMS schedule only Sebring, Road America and Miller are longer than 3 miles. Many are shorter than 2 miles, LRP (1.54), St Petersburg (1.8) Houston (1.7) and Long Beach (1.97). The remaining tracks such as, Mid Ohio (2.25), Mosport (2.45), Road Atlanta (2.54), Belle Isle (2.1), Laguna Seca (2.23) are between 2-2.5 miles.

On the Grand-Am schedule only Daytona, VIR and Miller are longer than 3 miles. The others are between 2 and 2.7 miles (7 tracks including the shorter Glen course) and 2 shorter than 2 miles LRP and Iowa.

If they have the accommodations they will come.

James,

When an earth mover gets stuck, 2 are hooked together in tandem using one as a pusher and the other as a puller.

I took a wide sweeping 180 degree turn with 15 degrees of banking. This track is awsome! As is, it's perfect for a RUF Porsche Twin Turbo CTR C4 with a lift kit!

Yes, Jamie. It's me. I moved to OC in 2004 and never knew that there were any PCA members here.

I was President of Riesentoter PCA in the late 90's and didn't transfer into Schattenbaum when I moved. I instruct every RTR event.

I'll be at Pocono Monday instructing for the DelVal Miata Club then on vacation for a week, then heading to the Glen for a 3 day RTR event starting 8/3.

Let's get together sometime. We can tour the new track with Doug and Glen.

Regards,
Nick

Hey, how about some of us Central NJ types?

How about posting a thread about a track walk and setting up a GTG? Some of us from Ocean and Monmouth county might like a little drive down there.

Sounds great! A ground breaking ceramony is now being scheduled, but I believe that it will be invitation only.

I'll arranage something in the next few months.
