Joe makes a good point and to further than 99% of the people here would need the "20 series" HANS. The angle is very important. If you are not sure make sure you have somebody go over it with you. The HANS website is VERY informative.

LVDELL-- I have a 30 for my formula car but want to do some enduros that involve sedan racing and would rather not share a HANS with a codriver.
deadeye-- I don't think I've heard of a helmet that is not compatible with a HANS

Seat: perhaps.
The positioning/size of the slots in your current seats must allow for the belts to pass over the top of the HANS device and terminate on your horizontal rollcage/rollbar/harness truss at an angle of 0 to -20deg.
If not, then it is recommended to either:
A. modify your seat slots (easier on some seat constructions than others)
B. modify your harness belt termination point (modify the cage, weld brackets)
You also have to pay careful attention to the spacing (inside edge to inside edge) between the belts at the termination point as well.
This has all been discussed many times in the past, along with links to the HANS installation/geometry requirements/recommendations.
The HANS is a fickle bitch.
