As far as weight goes, it depends.......on which series they run in. Different series, different weight.
Why - safety equipment, hubs, fuel cells, telemetry, radios, broadcaster TV, data logging, position lighting, noise regulations, PCCB/iron rotors, etc

found it in another thread:
and 997 Cup (without PCCB) have published weight of 1150kg (2533 lbs) dry. PCCB is good for another 45lbs.
An RS will be around 2450 lbs.
~370 rear wheel HP

No new car. Just a 997 cup signed up for the NASA July race in GTS4 and I freaked out. I think it's a typo. There is no way it can be a GTS4 car when he's running and winning in GTA in PCA.

I got the dyno number from a thread here posted by leh about the 997 cup he drives. I don't really need exact figures as I am just roughly calculating the NASA class the car would fall in. With the numbers above and drivers' weight added, there is no way he can be in my class unless he is running on 4 cylinders or put about 400 lbs of ballast in the car.

I know Jon Groom was getting around 430 rwhp at some point in the 2006 Speed GT series...couldn't tell you restricted/unrestricted. But those motors had to be on a crate headed back to Germany before they even cooled off after the last race!

The owner (Bob Faieta) raced it at the Road Atlanta PCA club race in GTA according to mylaps.com and is probably on this board laughing at me. He's registered in GTS4 which has a maximum hp to weight (with driver) of 8.5 to 1. My car at ~270 rwhp has a minimum weight of 2295. A car with 370 rwhp would have to weigh at least 3145 with driver.
I'll know for sure when the July NASA event rolls around.

John, I would doubt he ends up in GTS4...My 964 cup is at the "wrong" end of GTS4 with 270 RWHP and weight of 2720...He has got to be a GTS5 car....

When we run 997 Cup in NASA/PRC in California it is a GTA car - Bobby runs in GTA out here.

Since IMSA is at Mid Ohio the following weekend, I'm quite sure Bobby is running for practice in his 997 Cup. The car is either a GTC4 car if it has the OEM non-adjustable Sachs shocks, or GTA if it has upgraded to 2-way adjustable shocks. Anything else is just a typo....
