Guys, I found a corded tired today while mounting my track wheels... I was shocked to find the left rear corded, as it has very little use, three track days, and all the "grooves" and tread is looking pretty new stil... The other three look great, and this particular tire is worn badly on the inner edge only in about a 3inch section, as if it had been locke up previously...

Bottom line is Tirerack doesn't have them instock until July 20 and I need one by Wednesday in order to get it mounted and on the car for a Thursday morning departure for Watkins Glen... If you have one, please send me a note at dat74z@yahoo.com

Have a buddy who had a very similar thing happen and for some reason his toe was WAY off on one corner causing the tire to wear quickly.

I'd give you car a quick alignment check just to be sure.

We're checking the alignment today, since it's going to be tech inspected by the local shop I use. But after viewing the rest of the tire, and all four of my street tires, I'll be surprised if it turns out to be an alignment issue... This tire is perfect and has even wear, except on the inner edge for about 6 inches... Rest of the tire looks almost brand new across the tread.

I just ordered 2 295-30-18s since the others are on backorder... If someone can get them to 22553 by early Wendsday afternoon, I'd be glad to buy the two used tires. I hate the thought of throwing away a perfectly good 315!

I now a lot of people who tried the 315s on 996 GT3s and all had bad problems with them cording early. We diagnosed it as tire roll on an 11" rim. If you want the 315s then you better be in a race car with 12" or 13" rims.

I bought one new 315 a few weeks ago on EBay. Seller was tar6day. Very helpful guy...sent the tire 2-day express so I had it in time for an event. He has two cars listed on EBay, but I imagine his extra tires are still available.

I had the same thing happen - it will continue to happen until you get the toe/allignment sorted by someone who knows how to do it well.
