I didn't take any of the GT2 because it was always in the garage. I do have a clip of it blasting past us when you were driving my car...what a sound.

Note from BJ at Wright Tuning

Frese's car set the Sebring GTC2 track record and the Mid Ohio GTC2 track record. The mid Ohio trackrecord was broken by 2 seconds and the Sebring was broken by 2 and some change.
Any questions or picture request

John,

Thanks, I'll send them an email again, they haven't responded to my inquiry yet. Not disputing that the car is nice, but the fact that it went 2 seconds faster than the prior lap record only means one of three things to me...it was a) a well setup car, b) a well driven car, or c) a car with illegal modifications.

The car is well set up and the driver BJ is a pro driver and knows Mid Ohio very well and has won lots of races there.

Greg beat me to it. Knowing Greg Frese and John Wright, I doubt they'd do anything to "modify" an original cup.

Also don't forget that Mid Ohio is faster than it has been in years prior. My guess is a lot of records fell during the 07 race.

I didn't assume the car was modified, I just wanted to point out that just because a given car on a given day with a given driver breaks a record does not automatically mean that the car is a great car. From the sounds of it, it is a nice car and the above gives me an indication that it was probably the driver, moreso than the car that was the contributing factor to breaking a track record.

You would be surprised at the things I find in these engines that are sold as "original Cup" engines...

I was happy to out qualify that car for the sprint at MO (beat all GTC2 cars, always a goal for the GTC1 guy even though they were running in another group) but I could not touch it in the enduro. That thing was on fire during the enduro.

BJ was co-driving in the enduro. He's quick at Mid-Ohio. I love the 993 Cups but the # of cars at each event is low.

There are 2 nice cup cars over here in the uk,both i can say are great cars, problem will be the dollar exchange rate at the moment. Both are fresh cars.
I know cup cars pretty well, having raced and owned the ex vip 97 factory car for 3 years, and now running a 97/98 rsr cup.
Will gladly assist if i can.
