200 mph 550i?
In vacuum and 0.5g maybe.
That is 4000 lbs with what, 360 hp?
Nice but not 200 mph nice.
Do yourself a favor. Learn to drive first and then you will not need to ask anyone as many questions. You will realize that your project is a waste of time without anyone here telling you so.

He's having a GT1 street car built, I doubt he cares what is a waste of money.
Good luck to you and for the love of God, please be careful with that thing.

Lets get one thing straight: I don't want to risk my car or anyone else's car on the track by being inexperienced. SO I won't be even going to DE's with this car for quite some time, I'm building this car for more of a "cool factor" than anything else. Compromise street/DE cars aren't that great anyways, I'm trying to mimic what the factory did with their Race vs. Street GT1s. I want to build a one off 944 GTR "street". Thats all.
Thanks Red I tried and it kept telling me I didn't have priveldges etc. To answer some people's questions I will start racing with an F stock car built by Chris White. I will only start going the Club Racing route AFTER I've had schooling etc. Having started Porsche ownership with a 944 NA, I understand the "momentum" concept and realize it will make me a better driver, so starting even with a stock 951 will be more power than I'll use but I have a feeling I will learn quickly.
The whole point is, I don't want to risk everyone else's car or my own so I'm going to start small concerning racing - but this car is being built more of a showcase than anything else.
Mr. Watts: I do want advice, but that's just not what I had asked for in the original question. There have been many threads I posted asking for advice, I got it and took it to heart! I just got a little hurt here that when I asked a Tech question about DE stuff I got a bunch of "advice" and not tech answers.
Kurt M: Thank you for the response, that's what I was looking for. I understand the concerns etc and realize somethings will change in time, but for the most part this car is about my facination with the SCCA GTRs and not about racing it. In a DE when I do bring this car I'll be looking to learn how to apply its strong points safely, that's the goal here.
Greg Smith: When I go to a DE I'll be looking for advice, criticism and help - they probably won't tell me what to change on the car, but more what to change with myself to be a better driver right? I'll listen to the instructor because that's why I'm there, to learn.
Thanks everybody for the concerns and advice, its truly appreciated. I just don't want to come off as some jackass that's out to be reckless or do something stupid, hopefully I'll bump into a few of you at some events and you'll see why I am building the car as I am. Thanks all!

Possibly there is some confusion of maximum gear speed verses maximum actual speed. 200mph will take a minimum of 400 hp in a very aerodynamic, near perfectly engineered car... aka 997 GT3, which the highest long run straight line (possibly slight downhill) max speed I have heard was 201.
