tire pressure monitorting system

anyone using the "Smart Tire" pressure monitoring system ? is this junk ?

Are there better systems that don't require thousands of dollars of hardware ?

I use it on my tow vehicle and trailer. I wouldn't think it was useful on the track car. It's too much of a hassle to avoid damaging the sending units when changing out tires.
