At any rate at the Williams test he was a full second faster than the regular drivers have ever been on that track, yet you should hear the response from Frank Williams... I bet that was the biggest blunder that he has ever done... Ayrton on that section said that he was not going to sign a contract unless people would value his experience and accomplishments so far...
Then he was off to McLaren again faster than their drivers... Finally on the wet Toleman test with his first ever Turbo engine drive he end up a second and a half faster than their drivers....That time alone was good enough to be in the top 5 in qualy for the GP on that track! In a Toleman!!!!

What a rare talent indeed.
