Same way it got in there....on-track.

If you're really OCD, then a hacksaw blade & a screwdriver will work...but you gotta be REALLY OCD.

My step-daughter will no longer touch my track tires after I told her that the blobs were in fact "track boogers".

I really resemble that remark!

The build-up is substantial, I might have to get the hacksaw blade out.

Unless you spent the day driving offline or in the grass, cant imagine the build up being bad enough to go for the haxsaw.

Autocrossing gets the boogers off.

I peel it off, put it in a plastic wrapper with Finnish words on it and sell it as Licorice

Heat gun and a putty knife works best. It takes a lot of time, but it will get them clean.

Honestly I agree. Tire pick up has never been concern. I just am sure to do a little bit of side to side driving to ensure clean tires before the start of race and try not pick up too much crap at the end of a session, but that is about it. I have NEVER seen any one picking rubber off their tires. Is the rubber build up causing a problem.

pickup can cause wheel imbalance. once you scrape a set of tires, you'll quickly learn how much weight in rubber comes off tires.
