Default Heartland Park club race last weekend

I was wondering if anyone who was at the Heartland Park PCA club race in Topeka Kansas last weekend had any photos they would like to share.

We had a great race weekend with 25 F class cars in attendance made for some heated racing.

I would call it a perfect weekend with the exception of my 40 by 20 race awning/ nitrogen bottle tossing device getting devoured by the Kansas winds. Luckily nobody was hurt.

If anyone has pictures of RED GROUP # 713 YELLOW SLANTNOSE F car I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Cory, if you go to the KC Region PCA site, there are alot of pics on their discussion forum.

My first time at Heartland and I think its a nice track. Balanced course with slow and fast turns. Alpha 0 and Turn 1 on the start with a bunch of Cups is always "interesting".

Yup, KCRPCA.org has some pictures in the forums. I have been trying to scrounge up more. My guys took a LOT of pictures, I just need to get my hands on them!

Thanks to the KS crew. It was a fun track and a great weekend.

Kevin, it was great to meet you. In hindsight I should have stayed in it through the carousel but I'm pretty sure only one of us would have come out the other end.

Nice to meet you Jim and the Nord Stern Cup crew.

Hey, I was giving you room, I would have tried the same thing in your shoes.

Thanks again for not chopping me at the end of the back straight!

I have a couple of pics of nearly the entire red group, bunched up just passing under the O'reilly Bridge during the practice starts sessions/fun run...

Were you in the yellow slantnose Cory....?

The driver waived by the guy that I travelled to Heartland with during qualifying.
Gray 944 SP2 w/black wheels, very loud side exit exhaust....
We were camped at T8 in that big motor home and gray trailer.
I travel around as tech support with Louisiana contingent while I'm learning the ins and outs of race weekend agenda, helping me when I'm eventually racing myself.

Cory was the yellow slant-nose and I was driving the other yellow 911 with the red headlights.

We had a great race in the second sprint! Cory probably would have won it if he remembered to throw some fuel in. We had lots of side by side racing and a couple of lead changes. It was really nice to have such clean and hard racing with a good friend!

If anyone has pictures of us (the two yellow cars) together I think we'd both love to see them.

Thanks very much,

Jess

Probably? Just kidding Jess.

As Jesse stated it was a great race weekend and we had a really exciting door to door sprint race.
I would love to have a photo of some of the action.

Thanks to everyone in the Red Group for the clean race weekend!

Yes yellow slantnose this weekend. I have been running a E car for the last 10 or so races but was glad to be back participating in the very competitive F class group.

if you have those shots please email them to cory@planet9eleven.com

I plan on running the E 964 at Mid Ohio and the F class slant 911sc at Watkins Glen.

Maybe that term was used a little loosely. There was one car in particular that didn't deserve the thanks. But it wasn't the same color as either of our cars.

Not to name any names.

Cory, in the qualy session you must have started slow and worked your way up to speed after you let my friend in the gray 944 by just at the downhill before T1.

He gapped you for a few laps trying to catch up two I class 944s (he was SP2) and then you closed up an 1/8 mile gap and passed him in one sigle lap.....LOL..!

I kept trying to tell him on the radio to mind the tires and put in 1-2 flyers on low fuel where the car would have the potential to be fastest...., must have been y'all routine too....?

I'll send any pics I can find to the email you posted.

Your car looked great on track...

Sounds like the decision about which race car to sell may have just gotten a bit more difficult

Which one are you going to run @ MSR?

Is that the race on the weekend between Mid Ohio and Watkins Glen?

Good question.

If i had to make a decision it would be the YELLOW one.

Must be nice to be able to get tires to run. Michelin has now told us it may be mid-June before we have any fronts. Guess they forgot that people would be racing on their tires this year. Producing tires half way through the season is good enough, right
