Default Pictures of the NNJR PCA DE event 4/7/07

Pocono Int'l raceway, north course.

Temps were in the upper 20's with snow squalls! I think my head is still frozen.

It was great to see the new GT3 on the track along with other great looking cars.

Hopefully by the end of this year I'll be able to get a P-car and join these guys.

Here are a few samples:

These rest are here:

Looks like it was a good time for the green and yellow groups to learn the snow line.

Thos guys are hard core. They run in the snow.

Me, no thanks. I look for great weather track days, even if that means one track day per year if you live in the North East.

It was cold, but the snow came in quick showers and was so dry it never stuck to anything. The first pic of the 997 GT3 is the PO of my current car, at his first event with it, running 1:01s - 1:03s all weekend.

How was it running on Blizacks? Good to see you didn't get any accumulation. We were also cold at Summit, but the grip was good and winds minimal. The only snow related incident was some bone head in a race prepped 951 who brought the car in from DC and hadn't cleaned the snow and ice off his Lexan windshield. He T-boned a woman in a boxster in the pits. Lots of black flags in advanced groups. Check out the RTR forum for more.

Otherwise a good event. Kudos to Schatenbaum for scheduling 5 runs per day! Clubs that run only 3 runs per day don't allow any cushion for Black flags, maintenance problems, arranging ride alongs and toooooooo much down time between run sessions imho.

That's pretty decent for a 997 GT3. I used to run 1:03 in my bone stock Boxster S at that same track.

I bet his former car is faster though.

Is it just me or are new helmets way toooo big , The cars look like they are piloted by Martians.

I have noticed my new helmet looks like it's 25 % bigger than the same measured size as my old one .

How about 1:01 in an old 3.4 996.

I was amazed by how well the track tires worked once they were heated up in sub-32 degree weather. My student was driving with summer tires and they worked fine.

I didn't think it was too bad for his first time on a track with the new car, 26 degrees, and a guy just slightly younger that Paul Newman.

The GT3 is beautiful.

I was running with him for a couple of sessions on Saturday and am sure he was taking it easy but not without an effort.

I have to repeat! The car is BEAUTIFUL.

They are big, plus mine is a Bell M3Extra. With some students' cars, I have to wear my old helmet.

I just got new alignment and correct sized tires and am very happy with the car.

I'll do better when the weather is warmer (I hope).
