Default Who makes custom 16" Lightweight wheels for Porsche?

Bolt Pattern: 5x130

I tried CCW, Kinesis, Fikse and Forgelines without success.

I'm looking for a manufacturer that I can give the width, offset or back spacing and get 16" lightweight wheels made.

Thanks.

Hmm.....seems to me when I had my Fikse's made, I could specify all of those measurements. Call Paul at Radial Tire (www.radialtire.com) and I bet he can get you the fikse's. He races grand-am and is very helpful to racers. No affiliation/Just a happy customer

Rad - definitely look at the Lindsey racing stuff. They are ultra light (like 15lbs). Are you going to be running the G19 slicks or a DOT tire?

Lindsy wheels are made using Fuchs centers and unless you have an early off-set (up to MY 86?), they will not work.

I do not know anything about them except what is on the website, but IIRC "Kodiak" has 16" wheels.

Jongbloed will make you some. Whatever you want. Not as expensive as you might think.

Actually, the Lindsey Fuchs-centered wheel can work with the later offset hubs too -- there'll just be less backspacing. But if you're looking for a wheel to run 16 inch slicks on a heavy (relative to 1965-1989) car, I would focus on getting a strong, modern wheel with good brake cooling characteristics.

Lindsey makes all-new wheels, as well.

Last season I had a set of 16 x 8, 23mm offset, 5 x 130 three piece CCW wheels built for my 86 944 turbo. PM me for info, possibly for sale.

I run Jongbloed 16" wheels on my car. Good service and a great price for a strong, light wheel (that even clears big reds).

I measured by 18"x10" and 18"x12" CCW C14 Corsair 1-piece wheels, and the internal diameter is 17.6". I assume that a 16" wheel with a similar construction will have a 15.6" internal diameter.

My car uses the 350mm (13.78") PCCB brakes. I know it sounds crazy but I think I can run 16" wheels on a GT3. I need to measure the diameter to clear the front 6-piston calipers. If such diameter is under 15.5", I could have a shot.

The intention is to run 16"x10 and 16"x11.5" with Hoosier R35 Slicks 10"/11.5". These tires will bring the center of gravity down 1" without changing the suspension geometry, and they will reduce close to 60 lbs on unsprung weight compared to my 285/335 Hoosier DOT setup.

I could use the R45 compound for track days at the rear, and the R35 for Autocross or hotlap trials.

Thanks for the feedback.

I had a set made to spec. Excellent quality, extremely light.
Only negative I would say: painfully slow to deliver.

Here's the link to the Fikse data sheet to spec out your dimensional needs.

Note - pricing is much better working through their dealers rather than direct. AND prices vary between their dealers.

Yes. I already have a short R&P (4.00:1). This crazy 16" wheels project will be like installing a 4.30:1 R&P, a good thing for me.

The Fikse won't work as they're not a flat cylinder, the inside diameter on the inner lip is larger than the inside diameter as it gets close to the spokes.

I've very little tolerance to make 16" wheels fit on my 350mm brakes.
