IMSA GT3 Cup race was a CF in the rain....
They ran only 2 laps as there was a multi-car wreck at the start. There was standing water on the track and pouring rain. I got a report from a friend at the track.
Let's see, last race at Laguna last October they got about 5-6 green laps. Add in the 2 today and that's 8 full race laps. Wow!

Road America last year was the same way.
I was shooting in Turn 12 and I think I only saw 3 laps that didn't have a double yellow coming out by the turn.

Hey, why isn't that guy from http://www.sportscarhomepage.com/ driving like he promised??
I wonder if those Rennlisters who promised him money ever paid (and will want a refund)...

Well, there were a few well-known people who promised him money. We eventually figured out that it wasn't much of a charity, so maybe they changed their minds. Looks like he somehow deleted the thread!

You know what's interesting is the winner said in their press release that this was his first "Pro Race", and only his 5th race ever. The first 4 were in a spec Miata. Hey I'm not kidding. I thought IMSA was an amatuer series, and how did he get a race license with only 5 races ever. Obviously he's fast, he must be the second coming of the Shu....

Hard to believe a guy with so little experience in a Cup could beat someone like Dino Loles or Byrce Miller who know how to get it around. It will be interesting to watch him in the coming races.

I was there. The pouring rain happened just before the race (right after the Speed World Challenge Touring race). Standing water on the track is an understatement. The biggest rain came after that race. The Porsche Corral looked like a lake when I left around 4pm. Heading back early am tomorrow. The weather should be perfect. Low 70's, sunny and very dry.
