Rules ?
I have a 78 911 SC that I am building to run in G class. I emailed the PCA national about whether or not I could remove my A/C system. The reply was that yes I could but I had to remove every single piece of the system. That was fine with me since I am installing the system on my wifes 911. The problem is that I drove the car this passed weekend at the drivers ed. that was run with the CMP Club race. Alot of people seemed to be surprised that I could remove the system. I just want to make sure that I don't show up at some race in the future and the steward at that particular event tells me that my car isn't legal. Anyone want to help me make sure this isn't a gray area. I don't want it to depend on who you ask whether are not my car is legal. Thanks.

Chris,
If you have it in writing from L.Weeks, I would print it out and take it with you to the track. That way if there was any question, you would have it in writing "from the top"

Chris,
I asked this question of Tom Charlesworth a few years back, specific to the 911SC and G stock. The answer is, yes you can remove the a/c, because air conditioning was optional on the 78-79 or 80 911SC's. PCA has made a simplifying rule that you can remove the A/C on all SC's. This is an undocumented exception to the "if it doesn't say it you can't do it" PCA Club Racing rule. Eric is correct that you should document it from PCA, print it out, and include it in your book.
