Default Is mid ohio worth the trip?

How long is the drive from NYC area? Anyone going to go to the CVR/NNJR date there this summer?

Figure on 8.5 hours without road construction or bladder issues. Straight out Rt# 80. Is it worth it. If you have never been it is an offical must do track. It has hosted sme of the best. Would I go back, depending on available time.

Oh you bet it is . . . it is one of my favorite tracks.

Although I have only been there twice and I am by no means a fast, or even particularly good, driver, here are a few videos just to give you an idea of what it is like:

If you have the chance to go, you should go without giving it a second thought.

Best track around, IMO. Very technical - rewards precision and a solid understanding of the track and your car. Some fast corners that test your guts (1,11,13). I have well over 1,000 laps there and learn something new about the track every time I am there.

Is the Pope Catholic? Does a bear crap in the woods?

One of the best tracks in the country, IMO and I have driven most of the top 10 in the US.

I know it's a great track, but it is a haul. It's the "worth the trip" part I'm curious about. For me it would replace a date at Watkins Glen but it sounds like consensus is to do it.

Nice videos Todd. Really like the pic in pic.

I can tell from the videos it would be WELL worth an 8hr road trip to drive that track. Looks very fast and lots of fun. Go Sean.

I always tried to get a couple new tracks in every season. It makes it more challenging and you will improve as a driver by going to new tracks.

Go. Don't even think about it.

I think that you learn something new each time you go to a different track. The more tracks you visit, the more you learn about other tracks as you can start to extrapolate the various new skills you learn. Now, each corner at a track reminds me a little of another corner at a different track.

Plus, it was just repaved last year and it is like buttah . . .

P.S. Here is a link to where several rennlisters, particularly Mark (SundayDriver), gave me great feedback on the videos I posted earlier: https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...light=Mid-Ohio

OK, I'll ask the question sideways. I live on the east end of long island, and every track is an extra 2 hours farther than from metro. We also try to add a new track annually. What do you all suggest: Mosport or Mid-ohio?
