Did Summit repave this winter?
#4
Answer is no, not even parts of it. I just called.
That's a shame IMO. Parts (esp 1, 5 and 6) are really getting bad.

If they even just paved 1&2. You can't get anywhere near the apex or you just bounce right out of the turn.

Or 1 and 5-7.. looks like it's a "skip" for me, if I have to run at a track in **** poor condition it will be LRP.. at least it's only 45 minutes away.. not 5+ hours. Too bad, was hoping to make the club race there this year.

Pah-lease... Summit Point is glass-smooth compared to what they call a racetrack up in Northwest Connecticut...

I agree - from turn 7 down to the entry into 1 is in great shape, and (for me), from 2 until the entry to 5 is fine also. As far as comparison to LRP, as I said "if I have to run at a track in **** poor condition it will be LRP"..
Between the two if they were the same distance and I had to choose it would be LRP - for my car the "fun" at Summit are the parts in the worst shape and I guess I am just used to LRP's idiosyncrasies.. at least there won't be Home Depot driveway sealer ***** flying through the air at LRP (that was holding the carousel together last year, don't know what happened after that)

Great thread, can one of you internet jockeys compose a thread we all can attach to and send it to Bill Scott for motivation.
Say, something like this:
Dear Mr. Scott, we share your passion for motorsports and really enjoy your facillity, but would find more time for and commit to additional track time should you be able repave some of the rough surfaces: ie: (list specifics). We understand the expense in providing the facillity let alone the resurfacing, hopefully addtional track revenues can help offset such an endeavor. It is our interest to support the success of Summit Point Raceway now and in the future. Track Junky's at large:
list of names to follow.

It isn't enough for standard events to be beat up the Summit tracks, now they are increasing the amount of drifting events. I guess we will soon be seeing USAC running dirt events on the main track soon. I wouldn't be surprised to see attendance at some DE events to decrease due to track condition.
