993 or 964 Crank in 3.3 cases
Has anyone put a 993 or 964 crank in a 3.3 turbo case for an increase in stroke? Was wondering what combination was used and how much the pistons needed to be milled for the correct clearance.

Just saw your post was un-answered. I couple years ago I built a 3.6L out of a '89 32. case. I used a 993 crank and 100mm CMW pistons/cyl set (custom cyls/JE pistons). There was a little clearance work to be done but not much. Part of that was on the 930 oil pump due to Carillo rods, also piston skirts. This required boring the spigot holes in the case for the 100mm. The engine runs like you would expect a 3.6L, requiring significant rear spring rate changes due to phenominal torque increase.
I see you ask about pistons and rods as well, I have used Carillo in several builds, they have been perfect. Also, several sets of JE pistons made to order over the last five years (3-4 sets a year) and no issues what so ever, always top quality and service. I do not know how the 3.6 crank works with the smaller bore, but beyond that decision, if I were building your engine I would again use Carillo and order pistons to fit
from JE.
Keep in mind the different rod bearing size between 964 and 993, also the balancing issues re. the 964, before you order.
