Question Windshield prep???

What do you peeps use to decrease/eliminate fogging up on the inside of your windshield. I read someplace that racers sometimes use shaving cream...i tried that and it was a mess. i couldn't see through the shaving cream. Did I do something wrong in application?

LOL!

I've heard pig grease or lard is another good one, but from what I hear it only really works on air-cooled cars... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

I've heard motorcycle riders often smear soap on the inside of their helmets to reduce fogging, but those guys are nucking futz anyway, that sounds like just the thing they'd do anyway, just for kicks!

I believe that Rain-X makes a product for applying on the inside of the windshield for such purpose.

Rain-X just seemed to smear for me.

Other than A/C or heat, I'm not sure how to keep it dry/clear.

This is rather radical, but it works very well: a second windshield wiper and motor mounted on the inside.

I use anti-fog clothe (for ski goggles), it seems to work well and doesn't leave streaks. If you don't go sking in the near future, your best bet is a sporting goods store.

For when I ski, this is what i do to prevent my goggles from fogging.

I wash the inside surface of the lens very thoroughly. I dry it completely. I take a bit of dish soap (one drop) and wipe it on the inside of my goggles. You spread it very, very thinly and then polish it with a clean cloth.

I would think the same would work on the windshield but the surface is much larger.

good luck.

I haven't had a lot of luck with the RainX stuff... However I usually don't remeber to apply it untill it starts raining, and then the inside is slightly wet already and they tell you to apply it dry.

If I could just stop spitting when I drive...
