Post Lap Timer Q? w/tinted windows

Will a lap timer work with my moderately tinted windows? I'm thinking of buying one for the next season but would hate to have to strip my tint. The mount to the roll bar should be no big deal but the car is street too, so appearances matter..

Any input appreciated, TIA. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />

Mine never worked reliably through my stock tinted windows. The only way I could get it to work all the time was to mount it to the seat back and target it through the open passenger window. I have race seats, so I just tie-wrapped it to the outside shoulder strap pass through.

I agree with Karl.

My windows are tinted, but I have a Safety Devices cage and have mounted it to the bar going from the rear main hoop to the front main hoop pointed out the window on the drivers side, which is lowered when driving. Depending on your roll bar/cage, it can possibly be mounted the same. It's small enough that it will not attract a lot of attention.

Thanks for the feedback. I only have a redline rollbar so I'll have to see if there is a mounting spot that would shoot thru the open window.

THANKS!

Dan,
I made a rollbar mount from some hardware store stuff that worked great! & the price was right ($1.50) You can make whatever length you need to shoot out the window. I have pics if your interested.
