With a PCA license all you have to do to get a NASA provisional license is fill out a form, pay a fee and send them a copy of your current PCA medical.

From what I heard on the NASA forum. The NE region has an OCT race at WGI and they are considering adding a race scedule to their May dates at WGI. Keeping my fingers crossed for the May date.

great vid clip!

your car sounded great and you were driving very well (staying glued to Stickley's rear bumper is no easy feat!). just watching the vid in front of my computer, i got that familiar "sickly" feeling when your engine was revving to the moon and it wouldnt go into gear; i am glad though, that it sounds like your engine is fine, and only your trans needs rebuilt?

during my race (honda challenge), after about 2-3 laps, as we were going two wide in the bottom of the keyhole, i slid off a bit into the sand trap; of course, i never lifted (was in the top of 3rd gear at the time), and was exiting the sand trap and easing back onto the track; hadn't even lost any ground really. here's the thing, though; its SO bouncy and jouncy off the track, and i hit 8600 rpm (my "emergency max" shift point -- i usually shift at 8300-8400). so, simultaneously bouncing back on the track, i attempt to shift to 4th, and get 2nd instead...... ziiiiiiiiiiing! tack winds right past the numbers; had to be 10,500 at least; immediately in goes the clutch; engine still running; no "clankety clank" noises, so back into 4th and continue. next lap is done short shifting at 7500. oil press seems good, so i continue. no motor problems (thank god) but with 7 laps to go my left front hub/axle blows up and i have to pull in and sit in the pacecar area for the rest of the race... well, i guess i was lucky, because even a Honda motor can't take too much of that treatment; mine is a totally stock RSX-S motor (factory recommended redline is 8000), and i am lucky it didnt swallow a valve or spin a bearing, or snap a rod!

also, i hope to see lots more of you PCA race guys at the NASA events; i am sure you will all have lots of fun, and the competition is really close. come on out and play with us!!!!

todd

PS NASA runs VIR in feb, march, and one more time i think. there are definitely 4 mid ohio events, and the one watkins glen i know of. they are also at summit point 4 times. plus, for you more southernly guys, they go to CMP and Road Atlanta a few times, too.
