The series is going to compete with spec 944, Boxster, 911, and GTL. That's a tough order.

For the money the spec 944 route is the cheapest and the Boxster sencond and 911 next and the most expensive is GTL. At least one person is selling his GTL car and has built a spec Boxster.

I like the idea but agree 993s should be included so that you'd have mroe cars. 964 & 993 are quite similar performance wise so it should be easy to level, maybe allow little less weight for 964.

A 964 is definitely difficult to modify to a race class in Nor Cal. I ended up going to GTL, but it's difficult to get the 964 down to the minimum weight without spending some significant money. I don't think there are enough guys that race 964's to field a viable spec class. I would think if you want to keep the costs low, you should simply start in NASAs GTS. See how that goes and then adapt as necessary. You can always race with PRC in whatever class your car fits into too. You simply end up racing with whoever runs at about the same speed as you do anyway. With a mostly stock 964, you would be running with the Toyo Spec guys.

The spec 911 drivers are pretty darn fast!
