surgical tubing
I was watching a enduro race on TV some time ago and noticed that the drivers belts were supported by what looked like surgical tubing. When the driver released the belts they were suspended away from the seat for the next driver to belt in. Has anyone tried this and is this surgical tubing?

It is surgical tubing. I work on a pit crew for a grand am cup team and this is what we use. When a quick driver change is important, it keeps them in position, so they don't fall to the floor or an area that is otherwise difficult to reach.

I use them on my F-class 944. The tubing keeps the belts out of the way when you are trying to get in the car. I got tired of fishing for my belts with a cool suit, Hans, radio etc. You have to figure out the right amount of tension and where to mount them but its easy, and works great. I only use it on the outboard side.

Mine came with bungee cords with the hooks in the end; I am not too fond of the hooks. Surgical tubing sounds like a good alternative; glad you mentioned it. Thanks

Bunji is probably the racing version of bungee. Less understeer. Bungee does not tie like surgical tube but I am sure it works fine
Rich, Norm has a unlimited supply of surgical tubing. He did not have to spring for the $14.00
Sorry you guys can't join us at Sebring. Looks like very cool event.

Like RV said... the stuff works and its nice to not have to look too far for my belts after Rick DeMan gets his skinny butt out of my seat ...make sure you use double pull ties on each folded end to secure them
