I've got a 22ft ATC with the 4 foot v-extension...it tows like a dream behind my F-250SD. I've got three 4-ft tire racks (from www.pitproducts.com) that I can easily roll tires onto without an issue except for one spot where I have a flourescent light.
I highly recommend the ATC.

rick how did you secure the pitpal tire racks to the wall studs ? They seem very thin. I was worried that rivet may pull through so i was first going to mount some channel on the walls then bolt the racks to that.

I've towed an extra height trailer with my F250. Where I really noticed the height was when I passed a semi or they passed me. Seemed to move the trailer around quite a bit more. That "pull you in" senasation.

I ended up buying a 24' V nose featherlite and I think the nose helps keep it more stable as well.

Andy I used self -taping, #14 x 2-1/2 long screws to secure my Pit-Pal Sportsman tire rack to the wall studs. Remember you're going through 3/8 inches of plywood, plus the face frame of the aluminum tire rack frame which is 1-inch thick. That gave me 1-5/8 penetration into the studs which is quite adequate. I predrilled each hole slightly less than the screw diameter to assure that the screw would go where I aimed it; into the stud. I put 2 screw up high on each side, about 3 inches apart, and one on the bottom. It's very secure, I don't think 2 of us could pull it off the wall....

i have only the thin aluminum over the studs in my ATC. I wish they had put plywood then the aluminum rivetless interior in. : ( I bought the trailer off the lot, I did not custom order which now i wish i had. I really would have wanted a winch box in the floor. How is your winch secured

Andy:
Have you received a quote for the nosecone?

I've mounted E-track along each side of the trailer using rivets. I use aluminum shoring beams between them as a tire rack for 8-9 tires (245's and 285's). The beams are located just in front of the windshield of the car, so parking underneath them is not a problem. I like having the wheels supported by both side walls and also not having to duck while walking along the side of the car.

Joe I was thinking along the same lines with the E track and shore beams. It's cheap and effective

I have not gotten a quote for the Nose Cone but I plan on it. My friend has one on his 24 foot featherlite and he said the difference is HUGE. I am using an equalizer weight and sway controller by the way. I highly recommend this.

Andy,

The racks came with self tapping screws (I think they were rougly 1/4" x 1.5")- I secured them into the studs directly through the aluminim wall - I've had them up for over a year and at least 8000 miles in towing...not the slightest problem.

I tow a 20' Featherlite V nose with an F250 diesel. It is hardly noticeable. In my exhaustive shopping, I concluded that the best value in a fully finished aluminum trailer was Optima, Pace's premium brand. Heavier built than ATC, with lots of the desirable options as standard. I missed a 24' Optima on ebay a year ago for ~$12K barely used. If you are contemplating spending mid 20's I would check them out.

BTW; It's been posted many times before, but worth re-mentioning: the best site out there for shopping trailers is www.racingjunk.com No one in amateur motorsports outfits their trailers like drag racers, at least in the same numbers, and they are always upgrading. Whoever said ATC is the "Porsche" of trailers, I beg to differ, have you ever seen a Goldrush or Wildside?

I could not agree more wrt racingjunk.com. I recently purchased an 24' TN trailer (2004) from a pro-street guy, excellent condition (100 miles) and outfitted with all of the right stuff and the price was right.

O really like my ATC. You might want to try getting a quote
Atlantic Coast Trailer Sales, 159 Worcester Rd (RT-20)
Charlton, MA 01405-0580
Gil Bertrand GM (508) 248-4455

He is a racer (Sprint cars), does a good volume with ATC, I bought the 40' package trailer below in 04 for the same $ ballpark you are talking. Of course metal prices etc. have jumped ALOT since then
