Hey Larry;

Just got back from VIR. The Prof has you covered. If you think about the action of those load distributors, you'll see that they are taking weight off the rears. In some instances this is not a good thing, quite obviously. Hit a bump at the right time, and you get what you got. Glad you gathered it up.

Just ponied up for a 3/4 ton Dodge Laramie Mega-cab Cummins Diesel, BlingMan. The DUH-nali goes back to being soley a people mover again.

Aww Hell-Mutt, you say the cutest things. Actually the deal has been in the works for about a month now, and I should have it by Christmas. The Denali just doesn't have enough torque to tow the trailer when it is really loaded up.

I feel like the odd man out here, but I'm not running any load leveling bars/equalizing hitches/cams.....just a ~2500# 20' enclosed aluminum V nose, ~2700# Cup car and a diesel Excursion....2 5/16" ball and that's that.

Never experienced anything like that.....maybe I've just been lucky due to relatively low weight?

sounds like the rear end of the truck got light/lost grip. how are your rear tires of your truck?

Larry, if you want to practice that move, come and drive 323 from Ottawa up to Le Circuit Mont Tremblant, you can step the truck out dozens of times if you want. You gave it away when you mentioned you lifted as you went in hot. The trailer wants to go straight, the truck wants to turn, and the rear is light as you're off the gas. I'll bet it straightened out as soon as you applied some power and pulled the nose of the trailer into line.

I did a bunch of experimentation on a trip up 323 (OK, I was in a hurry, and I blew about 10 corners in a row figuring it out), there ain't no benefit to trail braking or trailing the throttle when you hit a tight corner with a heavy trailer on behind. Slow down and then pull it through.
