I got a bunch of flack at the Lotus Owner's Group event I attended a few weeks ago. Maybe it's British Humor, dunno. I guess being the only Porsche and the only woman made me stick out of the crowd a bit, too.
My nephew, who is really into dinosaurs, and knows that I like Italian cars, said that he'd love to be a "veloce raptor" for Halloween a couple of years ago: the fastest raptor out there, he said! The phrase cracked me up (he is 9), and it stuck with me. This past weekend, Keith Olcha also kind of chuckled at it...

Anytime, Adrienne. And yes, Caren would probably be a great sounding board. She is fasssssssssst....

As for the Lotus group...ay ay ay...yeah, there aren't too many ladies driving Loti. You must have felt like an alien there!

Carrera51, I thought about the "passed by a girl" sticker but I didn't want to promote a stereotype, or rub it in either. Instead, I installed this one, neener neener:

You should just reply with "maybe you wouldn't get passed if your ***** wasn't so small." That should shut them up real quick.

Honestly, you will always have people who don't like to be passed. My advice is to get some decent seat time and then come racing.

i'm gonna go w/ others on this. ignore them and ride their bumpers. works every time. pretty soon those comments will be replaced by "she's a fast-charging hard ***". can't do much better than that.

My wife happens to be a girl........................ and a very good driver (black group and requested to take the national instructor program). I have had racers shotgun with her and come back and tell their significant other that " you should drive like her" (divorce paperwork follows). Worse yet, she gets an initial cold shoulder from the other female drivers until they chat so it is not just the guys being competitive. She has run into some of this, but really shakes it off. The most effective thing to do is ignore them and keep on their bumper on the track. A blue flag waving will eventually get them pulled in for a pit talk. Best thing about the track is you need not say, just do and everyone will know that matters. Just don't date someone who is slower than you, won't work.

TD, best was Zone2 VIR ( I think you were there), girl running registration had some off the wall very tight t-shirts: "Sex" it's for having children. Or better yet day2: "Everytime you **********, God kills a kitten" accompanied by a dead kitten cartoon. And yes, she drove. ...................... My only comment........

Yeah, I was there. I think she also had a shirt that said something about "Prostitution is a profession" or something or other.

Zone 2 at VIR was my second or third DE, and I first saw Rebecca riding into the paddocks while reclining on the top of a red 968 with a full cage and the roof cut off (maybe was originally a cab??) with her shocking pink (at the time) hair. Not what I expected at a PCA DE but was pleasantly surprised. I kept waiting to hear Ride of the Valkyries.

I had deleted my post, but since it was already seen and I am NEVER personally guilty of this, here it is back again!

Adrienne,

that's a funny shirt but a lot of guys have a problem reading text on women's t-shirts. By the time they get to "If you wanna talk," this might be running through their head http://www.content.loudeye.com/scrip...000&cid=600111

don't shoot the messenger!

Just joking, sorta
