When I started racing at 22 years old, I had no house and no wife. There is a lesson there, I think....although I wouldn't want to be without my car/track supportive wife! Now, for my ex-wife.....

Not really a house, more like a VAN, down by the RIVER.

You can't drive your house, but you can sleep in your car.

I don't know abo0ut that Brant. There were a lot of "houses" that were driven down to Daytona. Of course, they had Porsches in tow too.

Whole season PCA in stock class estimated at 10-grand. One NASA warm-up session this past summer: same. Racing a Porsche: Priceless.

BTW: Tires cost about $800 weekend and a must-have on "less expensive cars" to be competitive.

Is that for a set of hoosiers for PCA I?

Crap... The toyo's I run cost $1100 for an 18 race season. Of course with spec tire for the class everyone is running same tires and there is no competititive advantage.

I find that there is a lot less "friction" with my wife if she knows what I'm spending and we talk about it before I spend $10k or more. We've lasted 25 years together by being partners.

Kenny: I don't know what the Toyo Spec guys spend. I'd think it's fairly modest compared to what GT cars spend. You could post the question on the PRC/Toyo Cup Board and I think you would get answers to define the range. I'd guess $1k or less per weekend as the cars are pretty robust and the tires last a few weekends. (Hey, I know of a couple Toyo cars that are or will be for sale ...)

Hmmm, those same $800/set Hoosiers last me pretty much a whole season! Somethin's not right here... for the 944 in your avatar?

Tom, I saw your post on the forum, I am waiting for my login ;-). I am really just thinking *way* ahead. Next season I will be running the PCA TT series, then maybe start thinking Toyo Cup. It's nice to know there is an economical way to go/grow. We will see what they say.

Anyone know how to post and excel file for download? I have a track cost spreadsheet(s) analysis that I have had for a few years. I have no idea who put it together or where I got it but it is interesting reading.

Damn close to that; boy is Colin good with the numbers. And Jay, that's why I didn't get a 996 Cup Car, even though the price of an early one was well with-in reach.
