Default PF Big Red Rotors?

My race shop suggested rather than replace my front 993 Big Red rotors (usual cracking) with stock, I go with the Performance Friction floating rotors, street version. They are dimpled, not fully drilled. They are the same exact rotor as their "race" which are slotted, with alum hats. The "street" version has a machined steel hat, yet is still lighter than the stock hats. Future rotor replacemants are cheaper, as you reuse the hat. Supposed to be much less prone to cracking, better wear with race pads, etc. etc. Anyone try these? Any thoughts?

I'd like to try a set of 993TT rotors that do not have the holes, but are slotted (even dimpled). They would have to last longer than what I get out of mine.

Don't know about the 993 versions, but the Boxster version is 2 lb heavier than the stock rotors (as weighed by me).

I imagine the fact that they are not drilled would make the rotor a little heavier, but the hat looked lighter to me. My shop said the 993 big red version was lighter than stock. I'm surprised the Boxster version was that much heavier. I may have to do some direct weighing myself to compare.

We looked at building full floating Direct Drive rotors for the 993TT but could not get the demand to justify production, but given the demand I would look at it again.

phil, I have issues with the oem rotors and pf97's. They stop GREAT, and I get very nice pad life, but I wish I could get some more rotor life before the cracks get too big or connect. I was unaware that PF made rotors until this message string. What PF rotor options do you have for my almost entirely track (DE only) 993 with stock black calipers?

The part number is 318.067.87 for Left .88 for right on the set my shop suggests will work. He said they would need to do a test fit to make sure, but they think it will work. Phil, your thoughts on this rotor fitting?
If not, how much demand would you require to make Big red rotor sets? It would seem to me that there are a lot of 993s with BR brakes out on the track that could be interested. I'd be happy to try a set out for you.
