Default PCA stock class rule question

Does this mean that I can swap out my CIS and move to carbs and stay in stock:

Stock, for the year, fuel injection must be retained, except carburetors may be substituted for
mechanical fuel injection.

Thanks,
Sean

No, you can't swap CIS (which is not the same as mech FI) for carbs and stay in the same stock class. Carbs will bump you up 2 classes (if your 82 SC is stock, you will go from G to E).

Yes if you are talking about an SC, that is correct. This mod will make you so uncompetitive in E its not funny. Fahgeddahboudidt.

If you ALSO add a wing, widebody, R & P, brakes, and big 9" and 10" wide wheels, you can win E class in an SC.

Milke - I believe E includes cars like (964) RS America's with mods, do you really think a 180 HP SC can compete with cars like that (70+HP advantage, better suspension, etc...)?

RSA are D class. (OK E with AC) The fastest E car I know is a 90 C2 with modifications right to the limit. A SC in E trim will have a 200 lb weight advantage.

200 pounds? Look at the rulebook it's a lot more, almost 500 pounds between a 911SC and 964.

An SC E car has won most of the PCA races in the NW, one of the chief stewards, I know him but can't remeber his name... he gave me a few 13/13s so I try to forget

I don't think a SC could stay with a 964. Yes it is 500lbs lighter, but it just would not have the legs for any of the larger tracks like the Glen, Mosport, Sebring, Road America, etc. Maybe at Lime Rock, but that's about it.

An E class SC with webers has more power and much more torque than my E class 2.7RS and I got in the 2:12s in 2004 at the Glen PCA race. Some of the "stock" SCs can almost stay with me on the straights. G class SCs are just starting to show their potential, they were slower than the 3.2 Carrera F cars for many years but I never knew why. Sometimes you go just fast enough to win
