Call the Chicago PCA - see if there are any spots open in your group for Labor Day Weekend.

I might even be able to pull some strings on a cheap room in Elkhart

The "Zippo at the Glen" is the largest vintage gathering in the country, by the accounts I've seen. This year Porsche is the featured Marque, and there is a CanAm reunion. It should be great.

I wold love to see it happen on the west coast.. for obvious reasons. Sears Point/Infineon would be a great spot... you are in the Calfironia Wine Country...lots for people to do...less than an hour from San Francisco. Plus that is where my cars live

There is no shortage of potentially great venues, Infineon included. Last time I was out there, I told my girlfreind that I wanted to stop by and visit the store. To my almost uncontrollable surprise there was a paddock filled with Vintage F1 cars for the day. I could hardly keep it in.
My Vintage buddies tell me that the three best events back east are the Mitty at Road Atlanta, the Zippo at the Glen and the Daytona Historics.
I'll agree that RRIII should probably make a western visit.

What would assume me getting my car back together.

I was making great progress until we found a house we wanted to buy and started working on our house. The other house has since sold, but momentum is now in favor of the house over the car. Hopefully soon I'll be back on the car. I basically need to remove the windshields and scuff it and then I can paint it and put it together.

We are showing Porsche Rennsport for Oct 13/14 2007 at Daytona. That is the same weekend as this year's Brumos Porsche OktoberFast at DIS. Nothing else showing up on our schedule.

"The momentum is in favor of the house" My Lord Geo, where are your priorities? This ain't a bad time of year for living under an interstate overpass. Get to work on that car.

Geo, you can PM me if you need help on that car. I'm close. And besides, I'm tired of breaking things and spending money on my own car.

The contract PCA has with Daytona is a three year contract, with the same dates or at least that was what was originally negotiated (I haven't seen the final contract but do know it is three consecutive years).

There is a possibility that they are showing the PCA dates in 2007 as Rennsport, since at this time there isn't sponsorship for the event.

Remember, registration for this year's club race opens this coming Tuesday.

Road America would absolutely rock for Rensport Reunion III but I would travel anywhere in the lower 48 to see it. I revel in the pictures of the RRII and I have always dreamed of the hearing (and feeling) the roar of multiple flat-12's!

Even though I would like to see a west coast event Road America or Daytona would be better for my cars. I will be at Laguna in a few days and the 935 M16 is geared for 137 @ 7500 and I doubt I will see that. However pushing that brick around Laguna is fun.. though the first time I drove the bank at Daytona was an experience I will never forget ... I love driving there! Nothing like running that old bucket up to a buck ninety

you need a long track like Daytona or R/A to stretch the legs on some of these really fast cars. Lime Rock didn't do it, in my mind, as pretty as the place is. Still, spectating at R/A is somewhat handicapped as it takes too long for the cars to come around. Such problems, we Porsche guys have to deal with....
