Default What broke on Leh Keen's Cup Sunday?

The Speed TV hosts showed the car going off course into the grass and commentated that something must have broken since it appeared he went off voluntarily. I never heard them comment again on the car so....anyone know what happened?

Checked the race notes, all I could find:
PRE-RACE NOTES: The No. 80 Porsche will start from the rear of the grid after post-qualifying technical inspection revealed a ride height infraction.

Lap 5 - 10:18 (2:21 PM) - The No. 7 Pontiac makes an unscheduled stop. The No. 44 Porsche and No. 80 Porsche each make stops.

Lap 59 - 1:42:34 (3:53 PM) - The No. 80 Porsche slides off-course and is stopped outside Turn 9.

Exactly! They finished the race in 7th position among the GT cars and completed 64 laps the same as the winning GT car.

I was frustrated watching them sit on the grass and just wondered what broke.

It is my understanding that one of the headers shorted a wire which blew a critical fuse. Not sure of any details.
Leh was turning good laps up until that point, though.

It's common for o2sensor wires to short out against the header and blow the ecu fuse . As far as sitting for awhile . Our 36 car was bumped into the gravel and sat there stuck for 4 laps . We got a nice nudge from the 57 corvette that put us there . The workers were very slow to get people back on track . What are you gonna do ? Thats racing ?

ahh... missed this thread....

the header broke and melted the 02 wires like Adam said...... it kep blowing fuses and we kep fixing it... the car would shut off at the same point on the track everytime... and then we would roll into the pits.... it happend to david twice..

then i got in and it happend to me once... then the 2nd times it shut off.... so i was coasting and the rear tires locked up.. so i had to go into the grass....... well the exhuast at this point was meling more then just the 02 wires...... it was messin up aotta stuff.... they fixed it.. and i went back out... the in half a lap the motec was going crazy.. had false oil temps of 300+.... and it wasnt shifting correctly.. and stopped making power.... so we called it quits....

its REALLY sux... david qualifyd 4th so we had good speed.... we were 3/16th of a inch or sumthing to low..... so we started in back..... and it went down hill from there.....
