After 7 track days with them: 2 on wet 5 on dry track , my Toyos R888 are in very good "visual" shape but they have become "greasy". About 25 heat cycles dry + 10 HC wet.

I am very pleased with the tyres ( cost/performance ) but I NEVER achieved the same lap times attained with the MPSC's...

Quick note, I'm with the Toyo NA PR guy this weekend at in a track in SoCal. The first batch of R888 will be released in NA on June 21st in limited sizes. More sizes to come later in the year. No price point has been released yet.

A couple of the instructors cars have them on and they like the stiffer side walls and say they have more grip than the RA-1's, but are noiser due to the tread design.

FYI, Nitto NT01s are the same compound as the 888s.

Nitto is a subsidiary of Toyo. It doesn't make any sense to launch the Nitto NT01 then have the same compound (w different thread pattern) on the Toyo R888.

JLucas is correct, it is the same compound. It doesn't make any sense, however, they use different distributors.
