Default Porsche Roll Bar ok for PCA B class club racing? NASA GTS?

Is the factory roll bar ok for PCA B stock in a 996 GT3? Also will it pass tech at the NASA GTS races? Thank you in advance for your help.

Isn't there an exemption for factory installed cages?

I was told that the OEM Matte cage in my 964 Cup does not meet current PCA requirements for wall thickness, but since it is a factory designed/installed piece, it is allowed to run.

Is the same true for the 996GT3 installed cages?

I suspect the difference is that the GT3 rollbar is a bolt-in add-on, whereas the 964 Cup rollcage is a "built into the car" design.

so what would you guys recommend to go with for a type of cage in the GT3. I do have to use this as a daily driver so cross bars through the doors is something I really want to avoid.

You could get a Safety Devices full cage, and just take out the front portion when used on the street. Taking out the front bars takes 5-10 mins.

I agree with Colin, and that is the route I have taken. The rear portion won't effect your street use.

i had a custom cage built by hendrick motorsports, removeable door bar and no need for one on the passenger side. works well for both street and track (nasa and pca). any good/experienced roll bar builder could do the same, i get tons of compliments on it.
