transponder mounting
i just recieved my transponder from PCA, direct wire AMB. Where does the rules or tech suggest to mount the unit. What source are you guys wiring into? Radio, ignition or direct to battery?

Front of the wheel well is where most of them live. If your car has a fender liner, then drill four holes and fix it with cable ties. Easier to remove it when the time comes to remove the fender liner, and its better to break the ties than the transponder case if anything nasty happens.
The highly competitive types mount an extender arm under the front bumper, with a switch on the dash. This extends the transponder in front of the car for close finishes.

When you guys say "inside the left front wheel well, that is not reached from inside the front trunk, right? You have to remove the wheel well liner and put it up there? I'm assuming that the transponder will not work through the trunk floor, correct?

Are you guys saying that ythe transponder goes under the hood on the left front wheel well or INSIDE ans under the front left fender. My inner fenders are removed so I would be drilling and mounting on the actual inside of the inner fender...
