Default Porsche Motorsport books.... ?

I saw a reference to them today, specific by year. Do such things exist? Are there summaries of each year of Porsche's racing published by the factory? Searches on Amazon, for what that is worth, revealed nothing.

Do these exist?

Is there a more direct source? How does one obtain back-copies?

Hey Charlie, I got mine from www.toadhallracing a few years back. Way cool books and my car was in about 5 photos in both the '93 and '94 Porsche Sport yearbooks. I believe I've also seen them at certain race events (LRP ALMS and WGI Grand Am) where miscellaneous vendors set up.

You can get the Porsche Sport books from www.motolit.com. I was able to obtain all years from 1993-2005. They are about $65 each. I am aware that there are two additional ones that covered multi years mid 1980 - 1992 and early 70s to mid 80s. I have not been able to find those however.

Thanks, Geoffrey. I've emailed motolit to see if they can locate the '93 and '94 books. They did not list them on their website as far as I could find.

In this case the raceteams are a very direct way of getting them, very often a successful team has the end papers changed to show their cars and hand out the books to people, most of them have far too many copies, you might pick up several years just by driving by

I have gotten mine from various race teams. A well known racer and PCA Club racer gave me one when he bought my restored (previous Parade Concours winning) '61 Roadster a couple of years ago. I believe it has pictures of the Cupo Car you owned for a short while Charlie.

I have a set of 93 and 94. I got one on ebay and one at www.toadhallracing.com they are absolutley incredible! I figured you would have them all Geoffrey... and Mike the 964 years. Anyone who is intested in Porsche racing and the cars .. should take a look. Pretty much any year is worth the time.

Just today, I ordered the new summary version that's only about the 911's history:

Ulli Upietz's "Porsche 911 In Racing"

Jack, is that literally a compilation of the Porsche factory books or is it "just another Porsche racing book"?

Upietz is the author/photographer for the annual Porsche racing books, so it's the same photography and author as them. I looked through it briefly up at Sears Point, at Christmas, but didn't want to have to carry it all the way back to Los Angeles. It's over 300 pages, so it's got a lot in it. And its focus is on the 911, not the other Porsche race cars.
