Hey Rick-

I enjoyd visiting with you at Sebring- hope all is well with you.

Don't forget to e-mail those front spoiler sources.

Back down in sunny but cold south Florida, trying to get back into my golf mindset after a great weekend of driving- tough to do.

Mike,

It was great to see you in the frigid south...here's the links for the two sources I mentioned:

American International Racing: http://americaninternationalracing.com/
GT Racing: http://www.gt-racing.com/

I'm most likely going to use the one from GT racing (#293 in their catalog).

Cheers,

Rick

Definately not a GTC3 car
Then he tried to race teh qualy in a 997 Gt3 cup car and put it in the GTC3 class.
The stewart who was on the track notice it and put the car back to the GTC4 where it really belongs.
Cheating once is "ok" but try to race a 997 cup as a 996 cup and thinking nobody will notice it?

Anyway K B was 2 sec slower in the 997 Cup than the fastest stock 996 cup car prepared by NGT in Miami.

I have a video of this lap. If I am alowed I will put it here.

I was on Bill Chadwick's bumper at the green flag hoping to draft him into the first turn. But his turbos were dead or something, and people passed us, then I passed him after the first turn.
Hey Mike /all
We has made some changes over the winter and man did it take a while to get the car AND DRIVER dialed in.
RE sprint
Yup sure got frieght trained didn't we!!
Basicly after thet dam crawl around pace lap tires and engine were cold!!
Slid out in one on the start and by the time I got it turned I was way slow and off boost. Weren't all those Cups pretty going by nose to tail
As you got by you also missed my nice loop coming out of thirteen. I rejoined 37th, after I got things warmed up worked my way back to 13th, I was pretty happy with that. Leah, Norm and the rest of the guys up front did a great job, (and kept thier noses clean !) Sebring sure is rough, I talked to Norm G on the way home and it sounds like he need a chiropractor for his neck!!
RE Enduro
Much better start (i spoke up at drivers meeting and got two pace laps - did not help engine temp but sure helped tires)
I figured if I could hang on to those top 4/5 Cup guys I would be able to work traffic easier. This proved to be true and ran my best lap of weekend on lap 18 with tires on 6th heat cycle. Probably my best race for consistant quick laps and sure enough was able to chip away and had some fun racing.
Here is a short clip.

Kevin Buckler got disqualified because he was running an RS engine with other Exhaust and cams in a 996 cup car.
So here is a question. Why didn't he get a 13 and told to go home.
Isn't "cheating" an instant 13 according to PCA Club racing rules?

I do not know why
here is the result
http://www.pca.org/pca/clubrace/2006...low-Sprint.htm
I am not familiar with the PCA rules. I just make the set up for the cars ;-)

maybe only the car get DQ and not the driver?
maybe something else?

It may be, but the first 13 just puts you on probation. To my knowledge 13s are not published, so he may have in fact gotten one.

According to the rules, if you get a 13/13 for any reason, your weekend is over. The rules also state that the "cheating" sanction is recommended. I guess that if your name is Kevin Buckler, you can always blame your crew for putting in the wrong motor. If you didn't know about it, how can you be cheating?

Here's my plug for a great crew...Autometrics Motorsports.
I came in from the Enduro Qualifier looking like:

Then came in from running a great race (for me) looking like this:

This was probably the most gratifying finish I've experienced. I honestly was packing up (in my mind) to go home but Gordon Friedman (the mastermind behind Autometrics) found a chain tensioner bolt had worked loose and was spraying oil onto my exhaust. I am now a firm believer in knowing how to release your car's fire system and knowing how to work a corner worker's fire extinguisher...without hesitation I might add!

See the thread: Cup Cars...Check the Chain Tensioner Bolt for more information.

Bill,

I knew you get the handling sorted out. Great job in the enduro...

Norm

PS - My neck is almost recovered. The problem was not really from the bumpy track, it was from the terrible angle of the hotel pillows...

See you again soon.

Please don't jump to conclusions about Kevin's DQ. To my knowledge it was for something that could not improve performance.

It was the first race of the year after all, and most inconsistencies with the rules changes, new rules, or the old rules for that matter, could be looked at and easily handled. No need for 'flagrant' here.

Two 13/13s were handed out for not maintaining the car in safe operation (hood pins and loose wheel).

Mac is inspiring a headline for the Sebring weekend: Fire and Ice

Mac - I was parked down with Dan Jacobs just past the Dunlop rig and saw your car get towed in after the fire. It looked even worse in person. Definitely impressive to see it up and running again so quickly.
