Default Mixing Motul 600 with Ate Blue

I have boiled my brake fluid ( ran pads down too far, my fault) and would like to know if I could use Ate Blue to top up ( currently using Motul) after bleeding? I have searched and it seems to be o.k.. Just looking to confirm.

from what i understand you can.. you will loose some of the temp ratings with the motul. but from what i have read the fluids are compatible

Hmmm... I run Motul, I always thought it was the other way around, that the Motul had the higher temp rating?

I switched last year after talking to a Motul Rep at VIR at the Viper Days event.

I run Motul 600 all the time now.

I run the GS21 high temp fluid and it seems fine. The only problem is that what I thought was a good deal on what appeared to be quart containers turned out to be pint bottles. The only reason I went away from ATE blue is that I didn't want everything to turn blue!

I run Motul 600 as well and I love it! I tried the ATE Super Blue twoce before and both times it did not perform nearly as well as the Motul. If you are looking for an easy, quick and cheap place to buy Motul RBF 600, try this place: www.pitposse.com

It is a motorcycle place in St. Pete, FL but they are super nice and have great prices!

you will decrease the rating of the motul if you add the Ate.... but i dont think it hurts as far as chemical mixxing.... just decreases the higher temp of the motul....

i was looking for place to buy the motul

Short answer: you can
Longer answer: Flush all the ATE through until you have fresh fluid. Once brake fluid boils, the boiling point is drastically reduced. New ATE is better than old Motul.

I was an ATE believer for years. Switched to SRF in spite of my cynical doubt that it would make much difference. It works. Not a sign of fade - ever - since the change. I was boiling the ATE almost every session. Two bleeds every race day. No more.

Should add that SRF is definitely not compatible with ATE. I di da normal fluch the first time, and the results were less than ideal. The second flush was careful and complete - blew every bit of ATE out of the system. Perfect.

Same Type fluid, no matter the brand, can be mixed. Not certain what would cause me to ever need to do so though.

How frequently do you bleed your brakes now that you are running SRF?

Charlie,

I have been using SRF for the past couple of years. I never bleed, I just change it once a year. It's amazing how well it holds up. It never boils in my car. ATE would need to be bleed after every event. I've boiled it a couple of times, that's when I gave up. Living in Texas with 100F degree track days being the norm, SRF has yet to disappoint.

I'm not sure the exact name but a few friends of mine who run ZO6 Vette's all use Ford heavy duty brake fluid. Dirt cheap and they never experience brake fade at Road America while running mid 2:30's with stock calipers, rotors, and upgraded pads.

Here is another vote for SRF. It is pricey, but incredible. I use it in the 996, and may well use it in the 944 next year.

Yet another vote for SRF. I have been using since I got the new car and no problems whatsoever. With the blue, I would have to bleed at least once a weekend.
