Talking about gloves, how do you like these?
They're Ayrton Senna's worn and personally signed 88-89 Championship Season Gloves.

I bought them for one of the cruise ships we designed. When they received them, I just had to try them... They "fit like a glove" and I'm not kidding!

Felt special to wear them and kinda sppoky. Someone suggested I should wear them for one of my track days but I didn't, out of respect I have for the man, I didn't want to do it.

Oh, and BTW, Ayrton's gloves are Stand21.
I currently wear Sparcos, very nice gloves but the next ones I'll get will be Stand21.

I actually prefer my OMPs to the sparcos, which is funny because I took a chance and mail ordered them because of a good sale price (half the sparco price) without trying them on in advance. And I prefered the Sparcos to the Alpinestars. It all comes down to personal preference on the fit, so the best thing to do is find a shop and try them all on, unfortanately most shops I've been to only carry a couple of brands and very little stock.

Doesn't Sparco make all of the Puma stuff?

I use a set of G-Force Racing Gear G-1 gloves:

SFI 3.1/1 rating - not a lot of fire protection, but as such, the glove it a bit thinner, which allows for greater feel.

At $45.00, it's a good price.

My understanding is that Puma had made some things for Sparco. I don't know if they still are doing that now that Puma is marketing its own line of drivers gear.

I love the AlpineStars Touring - precurved fingers - so do many ALMS drivers.

Stand 21 would be my next choice.

really? i'm way the hell off then. i thought suede palm gloves would be the next best thing to a suedewheel- if you have a leather wheel so it sounds like the sparco x-pro then- perhaps.

I'm also in the market for gloves as my gf got me a $100 gift cert. for Northstarmotorsports.

I thought too that suede palm gloves would be best with a leather steering wheel. Wouldn't a leather palm with leather sw be slippery?

Mike....have you decided on a glove yet?

I use Sparco X-Pros with a leather wheel. That 'lizard skin' stuff is all the grip you'll ever need.

Ditto on the Sparco with the outside seam. Very comfy if you don't mind the gloves looking like you have them on inside out

I wore out a pair of Simpson Talon gloves and Stand21 gloves each in 1 year (45-50 days on track). Someone just gave me a pair of Sparco Premium gloves so I'll see how long they last. For me, all 3 felt the same. As long as no seams are in the way, I don't feel much difference between the gloves.

Get a brightly colored pair of gloves that don't match your car color so it's easy for people (other drivers and corner workers) to see hand signals.

I never thought of that when I got my gloves in bright red. Wonderful and beneficial observation
