Default Toe-In Question

Just wondering if under acceleration a car such as my 996 obtains more toe-in? While I am here, I wonder if any of you could help me set proper rear tow-in specs? Any suggestions would be geatly appreciated.

Hmmm...

Chris Cervelli (PremierMotorsports) would be your man, I'd guess. I believe the kinematics of the 996 rear end keeps things in line for you, instead of letting things vary widely like pre-kinematic cars. In most cases these systems are set up to maintain rear toe settings (and consequent stability), instead of letting them go away.

The front will tend to exhibit more toe-out under way, and especially under braking
than you set statically. The rear is more complicated because it is under power,
which would tend to increase toe-in.

I run 1/32 toe in front and rear...Im my experience, later model cars are less sensitive to toe changes during accel/decel than earlier cars, for whatever reason. Traditionally I think the decel is what made older cars run with more toe in (worried about rear end deflection under braking). It all depends on how accurate your alignment shop is though -- which is why I do my own.

I go with max front camber (I dont even make them equal if they are within .2-.3 degrees side to side), which will be like -1.0' front. I run -2.5' rear camber.
