Default Aluminum racing jack on sale at Sears

Just a quick heads up. Sears has their aluminum racing jacks on sale for $169 (reg $199), but you can get an extra $20 off if you have a Craftsmans Club membership - $150 for this jack is a nice deal. This is one of the best jacks for the money. Much nicer than some of the other cheap aluminum jacks IMHO. It weighs 44 lbs.

I have this one and just love it. I see quite a few other folks that use this one as well. I think I paid $180 for mine. No complaints to date.

I think it does. Just has a more substantial feel and better fit and finish.

The Harbor Freight jack is not made to withstand the test of time.

The Sears Jack can go to maximum hight in something like three pumps when no load is on it. I've had both and feel that the Sears is by far the best choice out there. Got mine on sale a while back.

Has anyone tried the aluminum jack from Costco? I'm in the market and I've been considering that one. It's $120 I believe.

I bought one from Northerntools.com (?) recently for 79.00. We'll see how long it lasts. I will say it is very light. No where near 44 lbs. closer to 20 I think.

I have one of the jacks from Costco ($99.00) and it is a good one so far. It has two pumps for the cylinder and is fast to full extension. Better fit and finish than the one I have from H.F. but weighs more so it will be the shop jack and the HF will go to the track. BTW the one from HF has withstood 3 years of shop and track use and is still works OK. I have heard of other folks having problems with them.

The Harbor Freight & Sears jack are both Chinese & same quality.(Your just paying more for the craftsman label) I have had one of the Harbor Freight jacks in our shop for over a year & its held up well.

BTW we have had 2 Harbor Freight cordless impacts for the same amt of time & they have held up as well.

I disagree on the build quality to some degree. I broke a HF Aluminum jack while dragging at Lapeer, MI about 18mo ago... 2nd car lifted with it.

I bought a Sears one early this year after buying my 911, out of the box the square hole in the end of the jack handle that mates up with the piston release was too large, and just basically spun around the post. I replaced it locally, and that one has worked flawlessly since, on the 911 & on my SHOs.
