Dunlop SSR pressure & alignment
I just bought the super bargain SSR's from Tire Rack, and these are my first set of really good tires.
My question: is it safe to run similar tire pressures and alignment settings with Dunlop SSR's as others are using for Michelin Pilot Sport Cup's? There's a wealth of info on here about MPSC's, but not much about setups with the Dunlop SSR's.

DP35 - I'd try 34-36 lbs hot. That worked well for me on my GT3 with a track alignment (neg 2.5 camber). I suspect you'll like 34F 36R hot, give or take a pound or two. They felt a little less sticky than the Cup but worked well and at the price they are hard to beat for value. When brand new they will build up pressure quickly so expect to come in after a few laps and bleed down to the desired hot pressure. After a couple of sessions they stabilize nicely.

Bob,
Thanks so much for all the valuable info. I've got one last question: if I'm shooting for around 36 psi hot, approx. what will that equate to cold? 30?

At the ambient temps you mentioned I'd say 28 lbs all around cold if the tires are new.

I used to run Michelin Pilot Sport Cup's on my 964RS (set up for the Nordschleife) - the anti-roll bars were set to (pretty mch) full stiff all round. This worked fine for the Cup's - but when I went to SSR's I got loads of understeer (as SSR's are not as good in the dry) - and following advice from a guru moved the front anti-roll bar to one-off from full soft - which helped significantly.
I run 34 psi hot all round.

I read some posts a while back suggesting 32/34, but I've found those pressures to feel a bit squirmy in my 993. After 15 track days on SSR's, I've decided that I like 34/38 much more. I'm not yet sure how the tires will wear with those pressures but they'll probably be fine.

My car is a stock 2000 996 coupe with 18 inch wheels, and I've been to about 10 DE's, best lap at Infineon is around 2:00 (not on the SSR's). I'll be running at Laguna Seca this weekend, temps should be 60-75 degrees.

lucky bastard! i was and still am on the waiting list for Seca! oh well, there's always dec 1st
i am running 34/38 hot and seems to be the sweet spot for me however they were run at those pressures on hot ambient track temps 100+. not sure how they would handle at lower track temps.

I am running around 43 to 45 on my 968. I am about 1 second slower than on RA-1's. I had heard they liked higher presures. I find about 7-8 psi gain.
