I plan on running a 3 hour enduro at BeaveRun on Labor Day and am trying to pick the best tire. Is there a DOT tire that can be run for 3 hours straight? How about a slick? Which brands are most durable? I've been running MPSC's and Yokahama slicks on 18x9 and 18x11 rims.
Thanks,

Shaved toyo's will last 3 hrs.
Really you want to shave the toyo's to 4/32 and put 3 heat cycles on them BEFORE you run the enduro. I run RA-1's and 3hrs is no sweat on these tires. Running fresh even one heat cycled toyos will be slow.
I have gotten 6.5 to 7.5 actual racing hours on my 3 of my last 4 sets of toyo's. Some shaved and some full tread. Those 6.5 to 7.5 racing hours included a number of practice and quafying sessions for a total cycles ranging from 34 to 48. My 4th set of toyo's I only got 3.5 hrs of racing time from them since driver error caused two of them to develop nasty flat spots. That was still after 24 heat cycles.

I get 18 hours plus out of Sport Cups. Last set went ten track days and that included a 1 hour enduro and a 35 minute enduro an hour later. A typical track day is 1.5 hours. This is on a GT3 with a proper track alignment. I have no doubt that the Corsa and RA1 would do the same. Pick what you like.

3 hours racing at Beaverun? Is this on the original short track? If so that would be some busy, repetitive racing. Tire problem with the Beav is chewing up rears coming up the hill to the front straight. Tire management I guess.

I ran a 3 hour enduro at Sebring many years ago. The Goodyear radial slicks lasted , but it was in my GTP.
I drove all 3 hours. But it was way more comfortable and better handling than my GT car. I dont think I could make it 3 hours in my GT2. I could do 2 hrs...

I have 2+ years of DE (probably 20 days)... on my MPSCs and they are still holding strong. In my experience, the MPSCs love heat, and although the longest I have ever driven is 30 minutes, my guess is that they would take an enduro without too much fade if you drive intellegently.
My biggest gripe with MPSCs is that it takes several laps on my (relatively light) car to get up to temperature... a real problem in a sprint race, but not in an enduro.
Also, I find them a very forgiving tire... they might not have the ultimate grip of a Hoosier, but once they are warmed up, they stick pretty well and have relatively gentle breakaway characteristics... this makes for a bit less stress driving at the limit... a nice feature in an Enduro.
Never driven RA1s so I couldn;t tell you a comparison.

I did the Portland Cascade 8 Hour enduro on one set of Toyo ra-1 shaved to 4/32. These things last forever and worked great for the entire 8 hours. I even used them for 3 more race weekends after the enduro. This was on a ITE 968 so YMMV.
I would imagine MPSC's could easily do 3 hours too.

I have 3 qualifying sessions, 3 sprint races and 2 90 min enduros on my "race" MPSCs. You could probably run the 24 hours of Le Mans on a single set.
