Mosport incident photos (Gene's flip)
Hi All
A friend from Canada sent me these. I do not know who took them.
A wild ride for Gene McGillycutty in the blown motor oil I heard Rick DeMann got caught up in it too but have no confirmation.
FYI
I assuming motor it could have been a major oil feed line failure

There was one even more amazing fire ball picture. The photographer captured the whole series. I had not seen the flip sequence, though. Luckily everyone was ok and Gene raced in the flipped car the next day! (Btw, as far as I know this was the only significant incident of the weekend, I'm not aware of too many other racers who hurt their cars.)
Here are some pics I took at the restart following the incident:

Yeah, Rick was right behind Gene when this went down. He got away with a broken wheel and a front splitter which was smashed by the tow crew. It was a bad week for him.
Gene's crew worked all night and he ran the enduro on Sunday. I think that he won overall but I was crewing for Russ C. and Jeff B, so I am not sure if he was #1 or #2. Rick drove relief for Pat Martin and they got #3.

Is that Gene's car in the classified ad in the latest Club Racing news letter?
I know he is serious about selling so anyone wanting to come play with us in GT1 should make him an offer!!

It was amazing how little damage there was to Gene's car after such a dramatic scene. I was setup right across from him in the paddock, and from 15 feet, you couldn't even see the damage. The only visibe thing were the tires on the passenger's side.
