Jim I pretty much expressed the same thoughts in my post # 22. Because of the success of that series, elgible cups (2002 & later) have gone up in value significanty this year. Unfortunately the older cups have appreciated too though they have no IMSA related value. There are suddenly quite a few advertised, and several have already dropped their asking prices. I'm considering the cars in Europe that are represented by reputable parties (Konstantin, Euro RS/J. Brodesser), as they are more competitively priced. I would rather buy locally though.

Mitch thanks for the heads-up. I think that car is too expensive for the 2002 model year cars.

Jim, I know plenty of good spec miatas.... I can't afford the Porsches yet and I doubt the USA cup will ever go anywhere. I always have your USA in mind though for guys up here in the NE that want a stock class car that will hold value.

What do you think of that 944S escort car in the classifieds? Tough to get a market feel for such rare car. Still have Bill Miller's sick 914-6, couldn't build the motor for the $30,000 he'll take!

All 911s since the dawn of time have been unibody construction, and a 996 GT3 Cup is no different. The factory rollcage tubes in the GT3 cup do add rigidity, but they are not a separte component. If someone needs to "re-tub" a car, it was seriously f-ed up. Some of the prototype cars like the 917 had a space frame and a separte tub.

Cup cars are definetly not "tube framed cars".

My bad on the frame type. Thanks for the info. I misunderstood the reference to 'tubes' while watching my local race shop swap tubs on a Cup Car. Pretty interesting viewing when they have nothing on or in them.

Sorry, Konstantin just sold his last week Seriously though, not sure he has others but you cannot go wrong with him and Kadach, they know what they are doing. while in Germany last week I experienced first hand the respect that Kadach racing commands in the SuperCup arena, and BTW Farnbacher team was nowehere to be found in the Hockenheim race, Kadach scored 1st and 2nd.
