Default In car GT2 1:56.0 @ Watkins Race

At the risk of being redundant, I thought I'd post it here too since many people dont go back into old posts...

Okay, I was finally able to post the race in car video. This is the second half of the race.

The 2nd half of the race,, virtually all laps wrre in the 1:56's with the fastest being 1:56.0.

Enjoy, it was a fun race...

Great stuff. It was nice to see such smooth driving as those insane speeds.

That was nuts. Watkins Glen seems so much longer in my little car

Looked like a fun race.

Great video Norm! So the wheel is not supposed to dance all like my films... hmmm
nice and smooth. (not to mention fast) I will try Larry Hermans adjustments and see if I can smooth out.

Bill, sjanes,

Thanks.

Now if I can just get rid of the understeer...

Always something...

Bill, by the way, I took your idea for the neptune hosting...
It works well..

DAMN!@$#@ You guys make those cup car passes like I pass...well I don't pass anything that fast, including the start/finish line.

Norm, I have two critiques of your driving style...1) turn up your boost a bit would ya? You're probably scaring the crap out of that guy and think of the poor corner workers! they have to be ducking for cover when they hear you coming. Just turn it up, pass him and go on to scare others 2) no one every comes up behind you so lose that dang mirror, it's ruining my view!

What an awesome display!

Jeff,

Thanks. Yes I need to change my camera position to move the irritating mirror. I only swore a couple of times when I saw how poorly I positioned the camera :-)

You do have to keep us in mind as you are filming these videos. I just showed it to a colleague....he wet himself.

What a riot that must have been.

Very nice drive, Norm, very smooth. If it weren't for the fact that you get from the heel of the boot (8) to the offcamber (9) in a heartbeat, no one would ever know that you are corralling 500+ horsepower.

BTW, I don't remember the back straight being that short!

Norm,

Turning 1:56 why would you need a mirror?

Fun!

I assume that was Rennlister Bill935K3? You were clearly faster in many of the corners. About even to slightly slower on the straights. Clearly the understeer was keeping you from getting a run.

Didn't you get rid of that locked rear yet?

Thanks for posting. No wonder I don't see you for long!

Hey Norm,

That must have been a fun time..! Great running..

Check out my link below, it's last years race at the Glen against Steve Savino when you beat him right at the end. My second lap is a 1:55.3..! I know exactly how much fun you guys were having.. Hope to see you at Mosport in my new car.

Rick,

You win for the coolest video ever posted. That is very exciting and the field of view is great (although you could be alone on the track ;->).

After watching you and Norm at those speeds I have to figure out what is wrong with my front suspension bouncing all over hell. Larry Herman gave me some tips which I will try but if you could watch my in car and see what you think I would appreciate it. Back to the Glen next week so I can try it out. Hell who knows I may go from 2:05 to 2:03 if the wheel stays pointed in my intended direction...

Rick,

I watched your awesome video before - a couple of times. It was very cool. I know 1:54 has to be possible if I can get rid of the understeer...

Unfortunately I wont be at Mosport due to family comittments. Good luck & do well with your new rocket!

Norm
