Default Towing Car...Open Trailer...Cover it??

I'm sure this is a simple yes or no question. I normally drive my car to DEs, but this time am trailering it up to Tremblant for the w/e on an open trailer. I just had the front bumper (stone chips) and the front passenger side quarter panel (some genius with a key) repainted. As a result, I'm considering covering the car for the drive there. The cover I'm using is the Porsche cover made exactly for my car (GT3). I was thinking today though that even though it's fairly tight, maybe some air might get underneath it and cause it to flap repeatedly against the paint and do more damage than what I might save by not covering it. The car is in mint condition, so I would prefer not to have ANYTHING damage the paint on the way there or back - if it's going to get damaged, at least let me do it on the track!

Thoughts or experiences?

I trailered my car to Florida in Jan. on an open trailer. It hardly even got wet. With a cover you stand the chance of causing damage with the thing flapping around. If you arrive on Thurs. call me and you can put it inside my trailer at the track. We will be at least 7 GT3 s on Saturday.

Try PMing "TREMPER" (Pete Tremper). He has some brush on goo that can protect the front of your car. It's water soluble and can be removed with water. The downside is that it's water soluble and can be removed by rain.

Put a good bra on the front but DON'T put on a car cover.

Then again, you're worried about keeping the paint perfect AND driving on the track. Not going to happen.

I guess that's why the Cup cars come in white and not black like mine!

A car cover will NOT stay on the car...trust me......even if you anchor it down air will get under it and you will have a big balloon following you....trust me....

BTW - I did it by accident once...only once.......

The cover will also flap in the wind and scratch every surface.

I covered a Super Vee a few years ago as it was raining very heavily, all the cover got me was scratched paint and a very wet car.

Try scotchcal for the most likely areas of damage. You can buy expensive form ifit stuff or rolls of it cheaper. Use it like plastic wrap and pull it off after the race.
