I've got to slow down. I'm getting 12 track days to a set of RS-19 pads AND front rotors. About double that for the rears. Rear tires last 3 track days and front tires last 6. For this much cost, I might as well be racing again.

coryf, i am positively sure the oem yellowish pads on gt3 is not rs19 or rs29.

i agree with orange overheats and causing deposit on rotors to feel "warped". however in my experience and several other drives in CA track, orange has better bite, but yellow last a long longer.

What is the consensus about running Orange Pagids on the street. I love them at the track but changing back and forth sucks. I'm thinking about drilling them out for wear sensors and giving it a try.

It can be done, but I don't recommend it. They don't really have much friction until they get hot. I like the Yellows better on the street, but really, it's much safer to swap pads between street/track - it's pretty quick on the Brembo calipers and it gives you a good excuse to bleed the fluid too...

I wouldn't do it.

I used to live an hour from Moroso and me and my friend Dan S. would prep the cars the night before and drive up there on my race rubber and brakes. The brakes just don't clamp until heated thus increasing your braking distances. ...plus they squeal like a city bus.
(You get funny looks when two 911's w/ squeaky brakes roll into a Dunkin Donuts at 5:00am)

GrantG make a good point.... check the pad number not the "color" I ordered Front Pagid "Blacks" for racing, and must have gotten a street compound becasue they loaded up my rotors something fierce. I had to sand my rotors down after every practice session.

What a total PAIN IN THE ***. no more Pagids for me... IMHO they are over-priced anyway

Orange is old tech, it was good in it's day, but they now belong in a museum(or mybe on a vintage racer)

Unfortunately, Pagid makes, or did make recently, TWO different black compounds. One is a street pad. Check the number as said above....or, dump the over-priced Pagids and go with Hawk!

I'll watch this with interest. I need another set of pads for my pile of trash. Sebring is murder on brakes. C4 guy, I will be back at Sebring again for the summer event some time after May or whatever.
