I've instructed for Todd at his last 3 events and they are a lot of fun. Unfortunately, I doubt I'll be doing this one. You might consider staying the next 2 days for our Hudson Valley Advanced Driver's event with open track - no run groups.

I was at that event in 2004. Not sure about this year.

I've instructed with Todd, and enjoyed his events a lot.
Got two Glen trips on the schedule this year; one with PCA Potomac and the last race weekend of the 944Cup series [wunning with EMRA]. Can't make a third work. Maybe next year.

Maybe. I'll be with Geoffrey's event right after TracQuest's and I do have to work sometime (occasionally). We'll see.

Is TracQuest very differently run than doing DE with PCA?

The passing rules are different. In fast, you can pass anywhere, with or without a signal. In medium, you can pass on the straights without a signal, and in the corner with a signal. In slow, it' standard PCA passing (on the straights with a signal). I really like the passing rules, as do most people who go. It sounds far more intimidating than it is. People are very polite, and signals are normally given anway (even in fast).

Instructing is also a little different. You typically get a couple of different instructors over the course of the event.

I've run two events with Tracquest and had a blast. With the fixed expenses being what they are (cost to get to track/hotel etc.) I like knowing that I am going to get loads of track time once there. Usually you get about 2 1/2 hrs. a day min. and possibly more if they let you move up and down one run group on day two. The other thing I like is that instructors are required to take passengers in the fast group. This means you can be on the track for 60 out of every 90 minutes. Not only do I love the thrill of being a passenger in the fast group (I run medium) but you also get to learn so much more. The lunch is also first rate at the Glen event.

No affiliation, I know I sound like a comercial...but Todd runs a great event.

For those who are wondering, the website also does a good job of describing how the event operates and what the rules (very few) are for each run group level.

If you enjoy PCA events, you will love TracQuest. More track time and thats whats its all about. More track time per day.

Since I have limited vacation days, I have to make the best of them and TQ is high on my list of DE events.

Oh, you also get to put you and your car against other marques such as Ferrari, Vipers and Z06s. Nothing more fun than taking a car that has twice as much HP as yours.

In case you cant tell, just another satisfied customer.
