Default 944 Cup Goes to Glen

Just a quick note to let 944 racers know (also 951,924,968,928) that the 944 Cup has made a late change to the 2005 schedule that will now include a 2 race event at Watkins Glen. The date of the event is October 21-22.

For the full 944 Cup schedule, go to www.44Cup.com.

At the risk of tempting the true believers, you guys who have not raced outside of the PCA mother ship might want to think about doing this event. Its a great weekend, with Practise, Qualifying, and a Race each day. For the hardy, there is a 3.5 hour Enduro on Sunday.

Will there be a comp school along with this event? If not, what is the schedule for comp schools the rest of the year, before or after this event?

Mike:

There will be a NASA comp school on Friday July 29th at VIR. Then you can race on Saturday and Sunday with us, and then be ready for the Glen.

The Glen will be our last event of the year, so we'll have our Year End Awards Banquet there at the Glen on Saturday. All the food you can eat and booz you can drink, compliments of our sponsors, for all attending the event.

Hey Dave,

I thought I wasn't going to get to play with you guys this year, the schedule was either way down South (CMP / VIR) or on days I had commitments. I actually even feel guilty about coming in at the end of the season (well not really guilty). Do I read the dates correctly October 21st & 22nd Friday and Saturday? Tnoy K mentioned a 3.5 hour enduro will multiple drivers be required?

Looking forward to it

Big Al:

Sorry to hear we'll only see ya once, but that's cool getting with us at the Glen. You have been with us from near the beginning. The more the merrier.

The Enduro is actually on Saturday afternoon and is a 3 hr race..

Enduros are run with one group. One or more pit stops are usually mandatory. Multiple drivers are not required , but are recommended.

Sorry Al - my oops on the Sunday reference. Would be great if you could make the Glen races. I'm beginning to think your cherry pick the very best - Daytona last year, Watkins Glen this year :-))

Vaughn:

This event is being put on in conjunction with EMRA. As currently planned, the 944 Cup will have its own run group with a field of 20 or more cars which we don't expect to be a problem. Your NASA license will be honored.
