I had thought about a used LSD. But, then I though, "Hmm....., what if the friction discs are worn out? Then it would could cost me more." Maybe the bloody things don't wear out, but considering they are at minimum, what 10-15 years old?, I decided that they just aren't worth what they go for. I watched several on eBay, both by themselves and installed in a transaxle and watched them all go for more than what I would consider a "deal."

Just got the LSd installed in the 87 951. Used Vertex in Florida to install the factory LSD for $900 plus $200 shipping. Cost less then the cost of the Quaife I purchased for the 86, then I had to install it and purchase the seals and bearing. Vertex replace all the external seals and the drive bearing. To date, it runs GREAT.

Anyone from this board buy the LSD on Ebay? I was busy driving back from New Orleans, in my "new to me" 1995 968 coupe
