Default Where to stay near Gingerman Raceway?

Hello everyone,

I'll be doing the club race at Gingerman on the July 4th weekend and want to know if anyone can recommend lodging close to the track that won't cost me an arm and a leg. I tried a few searches but came up empty.

As always, thanks!

Here is a nice choice. Close to the track and internet.

The Guest House is also good.

Check out South Haven for a big list of hotels.

If you want some (slow) track video, let me know. I can also give you a rundown of the track if you want to contact me as the event comes closer.

CC,

Thanks for the links! I'll check them out. Any ratty hotels I should avoid?

Here's a link to Gingerman's lodging recommendations: http://www.gingermanraceway.com/

Mark,
There are lots of little resorts in the area that are marginal. If you can stay at the Holiday Inn or Hampton Inn they are closest to the track.

You ought to consider coming to Putnam Park for a race (there are two again) this summer. Fun track and it is quit a bit better than Gingerman, IMO.

Just be careful staying downtown. They sometimes have outdoor concerts near the riverboat and it can be very loud until quite late 2AM ughhh! The HE express and Guest House are the two best if it's just you and this is where most of the track guys stay.

Greg is right, Hampton is good and close too. I agree with liking Putnam better than Gingerman but you can do a much nicer family vacation combination at Gingerman.

CC is right about the family part. The beach in South Haven is really nice, my wife and daughter enjoyed going there while I was at the track. There are some decent restaurants in the downtown area but it pays to get a reservation if they accept.

Thanks for all of the help, guys!

The Hampton sounds nice but is a bit pricey for my budget at $150/night.

For restaurants, tell Bubbles I sent you (yes that's her name) at the Three Pelicans, Clementine's is also very good. Pigozzi''s has good Italien.

I bet there won't be much that is less than that on a holiday weekend. Book it just in case.

Maybe you can find someone to share the room once you get closer to the event.

Use holiday Inn,they have the best beds and the club hosting the event will have rooms blocked so cost will be about $85. Book it now even though the motel may not honor the price, but they will when you check in. Guest house "bad beds". the Hamton, holiday are near each other and closest to track.

I normally stay at the Guesthouse Inn...

However if your on a tight budget there is a cheap hotel on the other side of town. I think its around 35-45 bucks a night. However I dont remeber the name of it, its just off Blue Star Highway..
